This is your Charlotte Mason Recitation Resource overview to help guide you on your recitation journey. This is a FREE file and explains what recitation is and how to conduct lessons in your home. This file DOES NOT contain the recitation selections. Those can be found in the store and are bundled into Psalms/Hymns, Old + New Testament, and Poetry/Shakespeare. If printing all the other recitation files available in this shop, you can use this document to place at the beginning of your Recitation Resource booklet; the last page of this file can be used as your contents page.
A selection of Old + New Testament passages for Forms 1 - 4
This file includes passages from each of the J. Paterson Smyth's Bible Studies. Smyth's Bible Commentaries were apart of Bible Lessons during Charlotte Mason's time and continue to be a valuable resource today. I chose a Bible passage from each study so that if you are going through the volumes, you will have a suggested Old or New Testament passage for each volume. The heading of each selection corresponds to Smyth's books.
Finding time to recite poetry, hymns, and scripture can be very powerful and a delight to a mother's heart. In this resource you will find all three, along with background information on the hymns I've selected. Recitation is not limited to great speech, but also allows us to share great ideas of authors that inspire and kindle our hearts. I invite you to add this recitation resource to your weekly mother culture time and grow in truth, beauty, and goodness.
